First Post

This is my first post. I will try to post daily.

Here is a short introduction of me. My name is Hubert, and I am a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student studying at UBC in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

So today, I finished my last final exam. It was for a fluid mechanics course. With that, I have just finished my 3rd year at UBC (well, unless I fail anything...)

In other words, for the following months, I will be free. That's also one of the reasons why this blog has been created. As you can probably see from my writing, my English is not my strength. I believe writing blogs will help me on that.

Since I won't have school until September, I will need to (or should) find a job. Ideally, that would be a Co-op job, so that it is engineering related. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to secure a placement thus far. May be I will have to find another job for myself then.

The sad part aside, I guess with all this free time, I can work on many projects/things that I have been thinking about during school time. First, I will work on my Mini-Z. It is basically a remote control car made by a company called Kyosho. It is very small in size, yet very detail. Many components of the car can be upgraded. I bought a new body for my Mini-Z about two months ago. Now I will have the time to paint it. It is a NSX body in case you are wondering. I actually had two other NSX bodies already, but one has a "test car" painting scheme, while the other one, again, painted by me, has a NSX-R scheme. I didn't do a good job on the latter one, so this time, I will try to do a much better job. I will post some pictures up when it is done.

Besides Mini-Z, I can finally spend more time on my PS3! In particular, I can finally improve my skills in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. One of the best aspects of the game is that you can set online time record. It is actually very addictive as the feeling when you set a world record is simply awesome. Last time I checked, I was still holding the record for NSX-R in the High Speed Ring track. With more time now, hopefully I can set even more records. In the future, I will try to write about how to improve your time and some driving techniques that I use in the game. On the other hand, please give me suggestions so that I can further improve my time.
